Silk painting can be a way to freely express yourself through color and flowing shapes. This class is for those who want to loosen up their creative selves in a freeform way without worrying about making “mistakes.” Follow the behavior of the flowing color and silk and it will produce beautiful unexpected results – like a watercolor painting on fabric. Forget about the stress and fatigue of our hurried lives and concentrate solely on the process of creating art. You will paint your own 11 x 60-inch silk scarf. Makes a great gift! Learn the procedure for applying silk dyes. Learn various painting techniques using salt and alcohol. Wear appropriate clothes and bring a water jar, a large watercolor or foam brush, and protective gloves. Material fee of $15 payable to instructor includes silk scarf, professional dyes, salt, alcohol and practice swatches.
