Shibori is a Japanese term for several methods of dying fabric by folding, stitching, twisting before dying to produce patterns. Learn simple easy ways to produce a painted scarf by folding and scrunching around a PVC pipe! Hand paint silk dyes directly on to the wrapped silk by using pole-wrapping Arashi Shibori techniques to create a unique piece. Explore different folds to produce lovely designs. Paint two scarves and come away with everything you'll continue creating at home.

Material fee of $20 payable to instructor includes dyes, silk, two scarves, string and rubber bands. Bring to class: One 2-foot PVC pipe with a diameter of at least 1.25 inches or wider (wider is preferable), protective gloves, and 2 or 3 one-inch sponge brushes.
